Important travel information: Merseyrail Northern Line engineering works

During the weekends of 11/12 and 18/19 January 2020, Network Rail will be performing major engineering work that will impact Merseyrail Northern Line services. Fans traveling to Tottenham Hotspur (January 11) and Manchester United (January 19) matches using local rail services will be affected.

Saturday January 11

Replacement rail buses will be in service between:

  • Kirkby-Liverpool Central
  • Aintree-Liverpool Central (trains will run between Aintree and Ormskirk)
  • Hunts Cross-Seaforth & Litherland via Liverpool city center stations (trains will run between Seaforth & Litherland and Southport)

Important information for fans visiting Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Sunday January 12 and Saturday January 18

Replacement rail buses will be in service between:

  • Kirkby-Liverpool Central
  • Aintree-Liverpool Central (trains will run between Ormskirk and Walton)
  • Hunts Cross-Seaforth & Litherland via Liverpool city center stations (trains will run between Seaforth & Litherland and Southport)

Sunday January 19

Replacement rail buses will be in service between:

  • Liverpool Central-Sandhills
  • Cross-Sandhills Hunts

Please note that alternative bus services will be in operation at all stations with the Liverpool St George Plateau being the key stop in the city center.

For fans traveling from South Liverpool and via Liverpool South Parkway, the City Line services to Liverpool Lime Street will continue to operate and may offer a good alternative route. Additional rail replacement buses are planned to support those traveling to the game.
