A travel agency RHYL posted record sales in January, just four months after it reopened.
Polka Dot Travel, located on the High Street, opened in December 2017 and saw immediate success ensuring people go on holiday.
However, with the pandemic putting such pressure on businesses and with the travel industry shutting down, they were forced to close for the next 18 months as restrictions in Wales forced them to further delay any return.
Since reopening in September 2021, they have gone from strength to strength, with January’s numbers being their best monthly performance since reopening.
Joanne Roberts, Branch Manager at Polka Dot Travel, said: ‘It’s been nothing short of phenomenal, it quickly felt very busy after Christmas and it just kept going.
“The positive news in January about the abolition of return testing for fully vaccinated people was like a giant green light – we were open until almost 10pm that evening booking customers.
“This positive news just gave our customers the confidence they needed to plan ahead.”
Company director Helen Johnson said: “We have been watching Rhyl with enthusiasm since Christmas.
“The store quickly hit record highs for the busiest January since opening.”
Having been an integral part of Polka Dot’s expansion into North Wales since then, Ms Roberts added: “I quickly realized how passionate Polka Dot was about the towns and main streets on which they have open, it is important for them to offer a bright environment, welcoming a store in a main street and to provide jobs for the local community.
